A series with a political and racial theme. It is about a sub-human group of people called the Hairies, who probably get their name from their hairy bodies and they have slightly super human abilities. These group of people are segregated and are treated like animals.
It is therefore up to the Cleverman to unite the two groups,
the humans and hairies.

Hunter Page-Lochard as Koen |
The titular character is Koen, who with his friend Blair set
up a family of Hairies with a house for money and then later reports them to
the authorities for a reward. Things go wrong during the arrest when one of the
Hairies (a minor) is killed.
Then there is Koen’s brother, hekjhqe who apparently rich
and owns apartment buildings, though for some reason no Hairies stay in it.
Then there is Jimmy, Koen’s uncle who is the Cleverman who
gives Koen some kind of family heirloom though Koen says something about giving
it to his big brother. Jimmy also goes to the morgue where he literally
breathes life into a dead girl and then goes to a beach where some supernatural
creature takes his heart and kills him hence making Koen the Cleverman.
Ugwhdgwd either due to the fact that Koen was chosen as
Cleverman or because he genuinely wanted to punish Koen for calling the cops on
the Hairies family brings one of his Hairies friends to the bar where Koen
works the sub-human breaks off a finger off his middle finger and they leave.
Crying out in for help in pain, Koen picks up his finger from the ground and
puts it back only to realise its fully healed, he cuts his arm and it heals
instantly.
As someone’s uncle (not Koen’s) said, “with great power
comes great responsibility,” Koen has to grow in character and become the hero
the series needs which am sure he will. And btw, the series has Ian Glein.

Iain Glen in Cleverman |
The episode was impressive and it also had some impressive
names involved in its making with its effects spot on. I had to google more
than once to find out if the sub-humans exist or not.
Episode 2 airs on 8 June 2016.
