WAYWARD PINES SEASON 2 EPISODE 6 REVIEWS: CITY UPON A HILL

‘Wayward Pines’ season 2, episode 6 review: Humanity’s many follies

There are some times on “Wayward Pines” when it feels like the residents are not too far away from being Keystone Cops. We’re starting to think that the Abbies are the peaceful ones here, mostly because they know to a certain extent how to get along. For example, on tonight’s episode we had examples of Abbies cooperating to help one another, while at the same time Theo and Rebecca had many an argument about her and Xander while Jason and Kerry go from romance to hostility in an incredibly short period of time. This is without mentioning Jason later trying to be puppetmaster at the hospital when it comes to who should be saved in order of importance. CJ, by and large, was the sole smart one through much of this, and did his part to tell an increasingly indignant.

‘Wayward Pines’ 2×06 review: Dying to survive

Wayward Pines season 2, episode 6, “City Upon a Hill,” saw a major setback for the survival of the human race.
Prospects of survival are looking increasingly dismal for the remnants of the human race, as the Abbies burned Wayward Pines’ crops in “City Upon a Hill,” while also killing dozens of townspeople. Not only that, it seems that the Abbies have the capacity to learn and plan; after their attack on the crops, in which they scorched the ground, they occupied the ground because they recognized its importance to the inhabitants of Wayward Pines.

‘Wayward Pines’ Season 2, Episode 6 Recap: The Abbies Are Closing In

This week’s episode of Wayward Pins opens on a community of Abbies, peacefully living their lives. A helicopter arrives and starts shooting at them, killing the majority of the community. After doing so the helicopter lands and Pilcher steps out along with the soldiers who work for him.Kerry and Jason are laying in bed together when Jason suggests they have a baby. Kerry wonders if that would be allowed and Jason assures her that it’s a great idea, especially if they were to have a son. Kerry expresses her general anxiety about not only their relationship but the things going on in Wayward Pines. Again, Jason assures her everything will be fine.

Wayward Pines Season 2 Episode 6 Review: City Upon a Hill

The situation is growing more and more dire as supplies are dwindling and food is running out.
The stakes are raised and Wayward Pines Season 2 Episode 6 claimed yet another victim.
Okay, it actually claimed more than thirty victims, but only one that matters to us.
So, first Adam saves Theresa's life, bringing her to the hospital where Theo is forced to stab her in the chest so she can breathe. Then later he decides to end it all and let her join her husband and son. He could have saved her a lot of pain and suffering by just moving the process along out in the field.

The threat of starvation becomes real on a chaotic Wayward Pines

The thing that seemingly everyone but Jason expected would happen has finally happened: The Abbies are back, and they’re pissed. CJ and the others watch as the Aberrations target anyone holding a water hose, which seems like pretty definitive evidence these supposedly dumb creatures are thinking awfully clearly. Which is what makes it all the more irritating when we get two full scenes of Jason ranting about how these things are beasts, and there’s no way they’re capable of learning. How many times is Jason going to stick his head in the sand and be wrong? More importantly, how dumb do you have to be to look at all the available facts and still willfully ignore the obvious? Jason has apparently mistaken Kerry’s demand that he act like “the man born to lead” for “act like the man born to deny what’s staring you in the face.”

'Wayward Pines' Recap: Who Are the Real Monsters?

The title "City Upon A Hill" insinuates a genesis tale is on the way, but that's egregiously misleading. Not much about Pilcher's Eden becomes clear in Wayward Pines' sixth episode, but the inferences and visuals are chilling enough to jar even the most hardened stomach. Something wicked (or maybe simply survivalist) is brewing among the Abbies, but once again the episode leaves us with more questions than answers. Not a judgement, just an observation. Shyamalan manages to keep a stranglehold on his secrets while tantalizing the hell out of us without boring us into giving up.

Wayward Pines recap: 'City Upon a Hill'

The Abbies return, and all hell breaks loose in 'paradise'

Abbies aren’t exactly simple-minded creatures living outside the fence, it turns out. This episode, they show they’re capable of strategizing, of outsmarting humans, and of creepily staring at Megan (Hope Davis) until even she freaks out at the sight. And, as we see in the opening scene, they’re a quiet community in the woods when humans aren’t interfering: Before Pilcher’s helicopter comes to shoot them dead, they’re docile — and even after Pilcher’s massacre, two Abbies help carry an injured comrade out of the woods. They’re cooperating to save one another!

FEED THE BEAST SEASON 1 EPISODE 5 REVIEWS:GIMME A T

It’s time to tab out on Feed The Beast Check, please!

The menu has yet to be finalized at Thirio, but the same can’t be said for Feed The Beast, which keeps serving up the same limited options week after week. If any of these characters are capable of learning from their mistakes, they’ve shown little evidence of it in these first five episodes. Tommy’s a morose wimp, Dion’s an impulsive hothead, and the restaurant is perpetually on the brink of disaster. Reheat and serve. This week’s catastrophe in waiting is the lack of a liquor license. You don’t have to be in the restaurant business to know that such a thing can be nearly impossible to procure under the best of circumstances and certainly not something to leave until the last minute, but this is business as usual for Thirio.

Feed The Beast recap: 'Gimme a T'

While Dion struggles to get by, Tommy deals with Pilar's incompetence and stumbles upon a secret that could destroy him

Remember last week, when Dion constructed an elaborate scheme to get Aidan’s stupid hired chef out of his kitchen — and it somehow worked? And remember how Pilar was stumbling her way through everything? Well, those little bits of contrivance were only the tip of the iceberg, as this week’s episode of Feed The Beast goes all-in on the ridiculousness.

“Gimme a T” gets off to a solid start, as we see Dion feeling at home in his kitchen once again. He’s so excited to be back in control, he’s practically making love to the cookware. Enough licking the whisk, Dion! With the food finally coming together, that means something else has to go off the rails, and sure enough, here’s Pilar right on cue.

Feed the Beast Season 1 Episode 5 Review: Gimme a T

On Feed the Beast Season 1 Episode 5, there are only six days until Thirio is set to open – and no one has bothered to secure a liquor license. However, this is the least of everyone's problems.
In addition to the lack of liquor license – which would deprive Thirio of a substantial source of income via the sale of wine – it is also Rie's birthday for the first time since her death, and everyone is grieving.
Not only that, one character gets a pretty bad leukemia prognosis, while another finds out he's going to be a father. Oh, and there's a severed head in someone's refrigerator. Hope that's not on the menu at Thirio.

[TV Review] “Scream” Episode 2.05: ‘Dawn of the Dead’
For an episode titled “Dawn of the Dead,” there sure wasn’t a lot of death. I said in my review last week that I would riot if an episode titled “Dawn of the Dead” didn’t feature a high body count, and here I am rioting. It’s a cool idea to name episodes of Scream after famous horror movies (in case you hadn’t caught on to season 2’s gimmick by now), but at least make them thematically relevant to the plot of the episode. All of the other episode titles made sense, but unless the title is referring to people finally realizing that Jake is dead, the title “Dawn of the Dead” doesn’t apply here. That being said, it was actually a pretty fun bottle episode of the series that essentially served as a place-setting episode for the rest of the season. That bottle episode I was jonesing for last week was delivered this week, and the results were mostly great.

Scream Season 2 Episode 5 Review: Dawn of the Dead

Lakewood teens sure have a thing for causing trouble.
On Scream Season 2 Episode 5, the school was in lockdown after Jake's body showed up.
All of the stuff with Jake's cell phone just felt like a way for the writers to put a wedge between Kieran and Emma. Sure, it sucked that he had to come clean to Miguel, but that was the only way he would be able to remain in the school.urely Emma would understand this, but since the show is trying to throw in a love triangle between Emma, Kieran and Eli, we should have expected it.  Teen dramas sure have a knack for throwing in all of this unnecessary drama our way, and Scream is starting to test my patience.

OUTCAST EPISODE 2 RECAP: (I REMEMBER) WHEN SHE LOVED ME

This episode involves a lot of flashbacks and that's how it begins. The happier times, before Kyle's mother became possessed, just before because immediately, everything goes wrong and his mom stops what she is doing and covers herself with mud. Then the scene changes to Kyle and and the not so clean water in his house.
The town priest, reverend Anderson meanwhile is delivering a sermon. It's Sunday and he's not so happy about the number of people attending service that day. Then back to Kyle, who discovers a tooth in the house, triggering another flashback, this time of his mother chasing him, losing her tooth.
When the Service ends, Kyle comes to see Rev Anderson (not without a few stares). He is wondering whether the boy will be okay. And wonders why is mother is not.

Another one of the plot points in the episode is about someone killing animals and hanging their bodies on trees. A man called Lowell comes to police station (with a bloody bag) and reports this (since he had called and gotten not help)
kyle goes to see his mother, Sarah and he tells her how he feels now that he knows it wasn't really her fault. Kyle notices watermarks on the ceiling of his mother’s room and complains to one of the nurses. The nurse isn’t so eager to help and Kyle uses that as an excuse to remove his mother from her room and take her home. When Kyle is in his house, we notice that one of the men who attended Rev. Anderson’s service is watching him.
Kyle’s foster sister, Megan comes over to bring him supplies on her way to his daughter’s birthday party. He tries to give her a gift take to his daughter but she refuses but later accepts after some pleading. Kyle the experiences another flashback where he fights off his mother and locks her up in the closet.
Officer Mcgary and Giles go into the woods to investigate the story about the dead animals. The find a large number of animals dead and left hanging on the trees. They later find a cabin in the woods which was empty but looked like someone lived in.
Kyle realizes how really hard it is to take of his mother. He can’t even feed her. Anderson receives a call telling him about what Kyle did, he comes over, not so happy and wants Kyle to return his mother. Kyle asks him why the boy is okay and his mother is not and wonders if his mother is still possessed. He wants to exorcise her again and the priest accepts.
Anderson’s prayers don’t work and Kyle even puts his blood into her mouth but this changes nothing. But while they are doing this, there are a series of flashbacks showing us how Kyle defeated his mother and got the demons out of her. Meanwhile, Kyle finally gives up and returns his mother to the nursing home.
After Sarah is returned to her room, the man (who was watching Kyle) enters and talks to her like he knows her. He tells her that it’s so sad that her son will never know how much she fought and resisted and despite it all they have him. When he leaves, there are tears in Sarah's eyes
Then another flashback shows the thing which got out of his mum around his neck with his mum watching and aware.

WYNONNA EARP SEASON 1 EPISODE 11 RECAP: LANDSLIDE

This week, Willa is back and she wants to take over. Now there are three Earps, with what the two were doing to the revenants, they should be scared.
At first, Waverly feels overwhelmed by the return of Willa. She was to young to really know Willa. Wynonna does not want anyone intown to know Willa's back. Dolls comes back with a DNA test results and Willa's matches Wynonna's.
Willa wakes up and instantly wants to leave and the only thing Wynonna can think of is to offer her a drink.
Wynonna welcomes Willa to the Earp family as only an Earp can: over hard liquor.
The scene changes to two men breaking into a building. They find two women (Wynonna called them vampire twins) in the building and going against orders, they make eye contact and we find out the twins can compel and they drink blood
Sweet theme song
Wynonna and Waverly take willa to her room hoping to trigger some of her memories but this doesn't work. When Willa leaves, Waverly asks to leave see Nicole Haught, all Wynonna can say is "what? Are u and nicole best friends now."
At Shorty's Saloon, Bobo is having a meeting with judge Cryderman who gives him green crystals. When the judge exits, the twins come to Bobo.
In exchange for his loyalty, Bobo has been gifted these weird, green crystals by Judge Cryderman. Is Bobo hosting a rave at his saloon?

The judge meets Mr. Stokes who is visiting Purgatory and is going to the hotel room
Mr. Stokes goes to his hotel room and opens his case to reveal a lot of money. The twins immediately pay him a visit and ofcourse he has no chance against him. One of them feeds from him and they take his money.
Mr. Stokes checks into his hotel room to find the last guests haven’t checked out yet. They help him unwind before the big match.

Wynonna is still feeling guilty for giving up on Willa when talking to Gus. Willa catches their conversation and asks Wynonna to tell her the truth. Wynonna takes her to bottles and cans shooting practice and tells her about the revenants. I don't remember Wynonna being this good at target prectice. Willa takes the gun and when she is about to shoot her memories return (that was fast, though that doesn't matter since it makes the episode more interesting). Willa instantly becomes more bad-ass than Wynonna at target practice, Wynonna not forgetting to note that.
Doc's car has broke down and a 'good Samaritan' comes to help. Doc accepts but not after first pointing a gun at him, asking for help, then lying about throwing his keys. The man while repairing Doc's car sends him to the toolbox where Doc finds his deputy badge, given to him by Wyatt. The man then somehow teleports to his car. He reveals his name to be Juan Carlos and tells Doc about Wynonna needing his help.
Meanwhile, out on the road, Doc’s car has broken down at the border and a hardened Good Samaritan offers his help. He also offers some words of wisdom — these Doc didn’t order.

Its finally time for Waverly and Willa to have a moment and it doesn't go well. Waverly's idea of catching up is showing Willa her death certificate and so the only thing they can talk about is Willa's funeral which leads to Willa asking what they buried in their father's coffin and flashback which makes Willa remember how their dad died. When Willa reaches to touch Waverly, she flinches and Willa walks out in anger because Waverly didn't like her much.
Waverly isn’t as at ease around Willa as her older sister is, especially when she has to confront the fact that for all intents and purposes they “killed” her. On paper that is.

Dolls and Wynonna go to the house where Bradley Stokes is. Dolls explains how they found Stokes and I am as interested in it as Wynonna but all I know is that it involves a smartwatch. Wynonna is too insecure and scared of being replaced she does not think about much else. Dolls consoles her by saying 'you are the Earp that I need."
Wynonna finds one of twins in the house feasting on stokes. The twin tries to compel her but it doesn't work and so the twin runs. The other twin runs into Dolls and her charm works with Dolls. Even under the influence, Dolls rules the show and the twins fight over Dolls instead of maybe working together and sharing, giving Wynonna just enough time to save him but one of them gets away. Dolls uses himself as bait and the twin is so hungry she falls for it and she is gone. (The twins only live for half the episode which is kind of sad, they are more interesting than most of this season's villains)
Wynonna and Waverly find Willa drinking at Shorty's (drinking everything to find out what she likes). Willa reveals that their father possibly knew the revenants were going to attack and did nothing about it. Willa takes peacemaker and shoots a revenant in the bar with everyone watching.
Wynonna and Waverly find their sister in the company of Whiskey Jim at Bobo’s Saloon. Willa’s well on her way to becoming a soaked-in-the-wool Earp — soaked in alcohol, that is.

Dolls is not so happy about this and Wynonna sides with him. A fight between Wynonna and Willa occurs which ends with Wynonna storming out of the house (she is really insecure, talk about sister issues). Willa follows her and when reminiscing about their childhood, the two girls realise how close they were as kids. Waverly eavesdrops on the conversation and with her sisters bonding, she feels left out and with Willa saying, "You are not alone anymore" seals it for her, knowing she will never be that close to her sisters.
Recognizing that she can’t go around shooting Revenants in front of a viewing public, Willa apologizes and she and Wynonna embrace. Where does this leave Waverly?

Bobo hears about what happened and on checking a video of it, notices a new Earp sister.
A group of soldiers are then seen in a vehicle and something, suddenly is terribly wrong.
It is finally time for Dolls and Waverly to have a moment and one can't help but notice how wise Dolls is, always having the right advice for someone having a low moment.
The soldiers don't allow this to last and attack the building, with no intention of leaving any survivors. Dolls handles the situation expertly first with the smoke bomb (covers it with table cloth) and then with the grenade (throws it back at them).
Dolls must ward them off using every trick in his playbook. And that playbook includes flipping tables and kicking ass.

We find out that Wynonna and Willa think the same (Willa:Take them by surprise, Wynonna:Get out of my head) and they come out of the barn all gung ho. Too bad there is only one soldier for them to kill.
Waverly also decides to join in the fun.

As do her sisters. It’s a family affair.
Back in the main house, Waverly is tired of being told what to do and wants to fight. She gets shot (not that bad) in the process. Willa has completely no feelings towards Waverly and doesn't show any emotion at all for her (this might not end well) but wants to chase the escaped soldier.
Willa gets ambushed by the soldier but Bobo saves her life and she saves Bobo's life from Wynonna.
We find out that the mercenaries came to assassinate Dolls. Willa suddenly wants to know everything about Bobo Del Rey.
Bobo makes a deal with judge Cryderman (so that he can spare the judge's life for threatening the life of the Earps through the mercenaries). He wants the judge to throw him some kind of party.
The episode ends when Doc Holliday's car breaks down again. He gets out to take a look and someone knocks him out from behind.
